Milton Keynes has forged a new way of town building and has been at the forefront of many innovations which are being held up as the best model for the future. Likewise in the realm of spirituality Milton Keynes has been ahead of the curve in terms of ecumenical co-operation. The word ecumenical means that churches from different denominations work together in unity.
The churches here in South-East Milton Keynes – known as the Walton Churches Partnership (WCP) and covering the neighbourhoods of Middleton, Broughton, Brooklands, Monkston, Monkston Park, Oakgrove, Kent’s Hill, Walnut Tree, Caldecotte, Old Farm Park, Browns Wood, Wavendon and Wavendon Gate, as well as Walton itself – have been in ecumenical partnership since 1990 – which means Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed all together, with a Quaker and Salvationist or two thrown in for good measure!
Our joint mission is 'to work together in faith and hope to show the love of Christ.'
St.Mary's church family embraces a wide range of Christian belief and practice, with contemporary, traditional and Prayer Book worship offering opportunity for diverse
expressions of faith.
The church also fosters and enjoys a close relationship with St.Mary's CofE Primary School, recently moved to Eagles Rest, Wavendon.
