St. Mary’s Wavendon
St. Mary’s Wavendon

Thursday Coffee morning 8.45am - 12pm Coffee morning 'Open Door' – weekly except in school holidays. A very popular event with all sections of our community: school mums and carers, villagers, church members and their friends. Drop in anytime throughout the morning. A chance to chat, to laugh, to eat cake and drink proper coffee. What’s not to like?

Milton Court Worship Service - A small team of volunteers from All Saints and St Mary’s hold an informal monthly worship service at 11.30am on the 3rd Thursday of the month at Milton Court Care Centre, Tunbridge Grove, Kent’s Hill. If you would like to get involved, either to help with the service or just come along to support the team and chat to the residents, please contact Alise Trendall at 01908 582839

Wavendon Friendship Club - The Friendship Club has been meeting for many, many years in Wavendon Community Centre (opposite St Mary's Church). It is an informal time - join in a board game or game of cards, or relax as we are entertained by the local children or listen to occasional guest speakers, and of course there is an opportunity to chat over a cup of tea and a cake. We meet alternate Tuesdays from 2-4pm. Do come and join us if you can, we would love to meet you.

Foodbank Collection - At St. Mary’s we recognise and celebrate the many blessings God has poured upon us – not least the privilege of a full tummy. We collect non-perishable food in a big plastic container situated next to the font at the back of church. There are lists of essential food items the Foodbank are always very grateful to receive. Next time there is a BOGOF why not consider giving away that extra tin of soup or bag of pasta to someone you may never meet, but whom Jesus loves and wants to bless through you.

Each year at St. Mary’s we nominate two charities that will receive the proceeds from specific events throughout our church calendar. In 2017/18 the charities are:

Open Door MK with the support of MK Council - providing a safe space where a hot meal is offered alongside professional support services.

Shelter Boxworking in 10 countries across the world with families caught up in war, flooding and hurricane disasters giving them a Shelterbox full of practical items; tents, water carriers, water filters, blankets, pots and pans and emergency solar lighting: giving them a home in a box.
